As the new year begins, Denton Hearing Health Care is honored to announce the winner of 2023’s “Hear for the Holidays” initiative. This time, the gift of hearing goes to a very special member of our community, Carol. 

Carol's story, as shared by her loved ones, is a touching testament to her resilience and the profound impact of hearing on quality of life. Amidst personal challenges, including a recent diagnosis of dementia and the loss of her daughter, Carol's struggle with hearing loss has been an added burden.  

Her family's heartfelt nominations painted a picture of a selfless, caring woman who, despite financial constraints, continues to put others first. 

A Community's Love and Support 

The nominations for Carol came from those closest to her, highlighting her life's dedication to her family. One nomination shared,

"My grandma has been suffering with her hearing for years...she is such a caring and loving woman who would give the clothes off her back if you didn’t have any."  

Another expressed the frustration and helplessness Carol felt due to the high cost of hearing aids, a challenge compounded by her forced retirement amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Winning the Hear for the Holidays giveaway is more than just receiving a pair of hearing aids for Carol. It's about reconnecting with her surroundings, engaging more fully with her family, and navigating her golden years with greater ease and joy.
