Dr. Katie Kufeldt, Au.D.

Audiologist & Owner

Dr. Kufeldt grew up in a small West Texas town called Robert Lee. It was a wonderful place to call home, where everyone knew each other and there was always someone ready to lend a helping hand. That sense of community has stayed with her and continues to shape how she cares for her patients today.

Dr. Kufeldt completed both her undergraduate and doctoral training at Texas Tech University – Wreck ‘em Tech! She always knew she wanted to work in healthcare, but she wasn’t sure at what capacity. She was drawn to a career where she could truly help people and improve their quality of life. In many ways, audiology found her. It wasn’t a field she was initially familiar with, but after her first audiology class, she knew she had found exactly where she was meant to be.

For Dr. Kufeldt, no two days are exactly the same, but most days are filled with helping patients troubleshoot hearing aids, conducting comprehensive hearing evaluations, and fitting patients with hearing devices. One of her favorite moments is when a patient experiences that first “wow” moment with hearing aids – it never gets old and is always incredibly rewarding. She works with patients of all ages and provides a full range of hearing healthcare services, including evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and ongoing care.

She truly loves everything about working at Denton Hearing Health Care. Dr. Kufeldt feels incredibly fortunate to work alongside such a wonderful team and to care for her patients. The office has a warm, positive environment where the team genuinely enjoys each other’s company, and that makes every day rewarding for her.

Dr. Kufeldt notes that many of her patients have been with her through different stages of her life – from before she met her husband to now raising a family. Her patients’ support, encouragement, and shared life experiences mean so much to her, and it feels like they’ve grown together.

The most rewarding part of Dr. Kufeldt’s work is helping patients reconnect with the world around them, whether that’s hearing a loved one’s voice more clearly, enjoying conversations again, or feeling more confident in their daily lives. Seeing that positive impact never gets old for her.

Dr. Kufeldt has experienced so many meaningful moments in her career, but the ones that stand out most are when patients hear something they haven’t heard in years – like a grandchild’s voice or everyday sounds they didn’t realize they were missing. Those emotional, joyful reactions are something she will never take for granted.

Outside of work, Dr. Kufeldt’s time is centered around her family. She has two young children – a three-and-a-half-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son. They keep her husband and her very busy! When they are not at the office, you can usually find them at the park or spending time outdoors. They love being active and making the most of family time together.

If you could have dinner with one person (dead or alive), who would it be?

My grandparents. I would love to go back and have one more dinner with them and tell them all about what has happened in my life since they passed. My grandfather gave all of the grandchildren nicknames; mine was Lottie. I can only imagine what names he would come up with for my children.

  • Great people, easy to work with and easily available. I’m glad I got my hearing aids and that I was patient enough to get accustomed to them. I very seldom have to ask people, especially my grands, to repeat themselves anymore.
