Dr. Mekenzie Monroe
Audiologist
Dr. Monroe grew up in Prosper, TX, about 45 minutes east of Denton. She attended Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX for undergraduate and graduate school (Wreck ‘Em!).
Dr. Monroe’s goal was to find a job where she loved to work every single day. She is thrilled that Denton Hearing Health Care has fulfilled that aspiration. She especially loves how the place of community within her team and her patients quickly developed.
No workday is ever the same for Dr. Monroe, and she relishes the variety. She works with adults and children performing hearing tests and fitting hearing aids. Additionally, she manages newborn hearing screenings, handles cerumen management, and does balance testing.
Patients with a hearing loss often become isolated. That’s why the most rewarding part of Dr. Monroe’s work is when a patient successfully reconnects with the world around them.
She recalls helping one patient to attend his social activities again. He exclaimed, “I’ve got my life back!” Dr. Monroe says this is the reason she chose this profession.
Outside of the office, Dr. Monroe’s life is a whirl of activity! She keeps busy with weddings, baby showers, snowboarding, and spending time with family and friends. One activity that she recently enjoyed was building a barndominium.
