Selena Gurrola

Referral Coordinator/Hearing Aid Technician

Selena was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in linguistics and a minor in speech-language pathology. Selena is now pursuing her doctorate in audiology at the University of North Texas.

Not long after her 21st birthday, Selena was left with significant hearing loss in both ears following a sudden illness—an experience that left her initially devastated.

Her audiologist helped Selena to learn all she could about her hearing loss. Eventually, this turned her concerns and curiosity into full-blown inspiration to pursue hearing healthcare as a career.

A typical workday for Selena at Denton Hearing Healthcare includes answering clinic phone calls and scheduling patients. She also helps patients who have minor issues with their hearing aids to get their devices back into working order so they can continue to enjoy them.

Selena loves seeing returning patients and meeting new people every day. She also likes educating patients on their hearing aids and seeing their faces light up when their hearing aids work so well for them.

When Selena is not at work or at school, she enjoys relaxing at home watching Grey’s Anatomy (for the 4th or 5th time) or playing with her three chihuahuas. She can also be found trying new restaurants in the DFW area or going to Six Flags because she absolutely loves roller coasters.
